Monday 11 april

We were ready to go to Finland. We had to travel for about 5 hour including fly stops and bus travel. Once we get there, it was a bit colder than in Holland. While we were traveling by bus to our hotel, we’ve saw some major differences between Holland and Finland. The type of buildings and nature were the biggest differences. Buildings were looking more sad and grey but the nature was beautiful. We were staying in the ‘best western hotel’. This was a nice good hotel with good facilities. On the first day we’ve settled down in the hotel and went to the centre to eat and to go to a pub to drink some to expensive wine.

Tuesday 12 April

We went to school in Kuopio to meet the students from Finland. First we had to walk for 20 minutes. That seems not so far but we are not used to the hilly roads. When we arrived at the school the students gave us a tour through the city. We went to some shops, drank some coffee and bought some wine (hihi). After the tour we had to go back to school to do some exchange theory. We had to look for the differences between Holland and Finland about the global warming problem. At the end of the day we went back to the hotel and we’ve held a little party at 12 o’clock because it was Patricia’s birthday on Wednesday.

Wednesday 13 April

The bus arrived early in the morning to go to Tahko. On our way to Tahko we’ve made a stop to go to a biological shop. The owner of this place showed us his shop and told us about the products he sells. After this very informative stop went back on our way to Tahko.  Once we’ve got to Tahko, we went skiing. I’ve never skied before so I had to take some lessons together whit some other students of our group. We had two very strict teachers but it was very fun to do. Some of our group turn out to be really talented skiers and some others had a very hard time to get of the hill without falling down (specially one of our teachers). At the end of the day everybody was exhausted and tired and we went back to the hotel.

Thursday 14 April

Another school day. In the morning we held a presentation about Holland. We’ve told them some geographical and economical information. After that we had to make groups whit the Finnish students and talked about differences between Holland and Finland. We had to make a presentation about the subjects and show it to the rest of the group. This was our last day at school.

Friday 15 April

It’s time to go home. We leaved at 01.30am back to the airport. At our stop in Helsinki the flight was a little bit delayed. I was back at home at 9’clock in the evening.
